HS1 Smart Pads Cartridge Infant Child M5072A Medical Equipment For Hospital
Cardiac arrest in children is an unfortunate and traumatic event...one that affects approximately 16,000 American children each year.
Tragically, only 5-10% of patients survive out-of-hospital arrest. Many of these survivors suffer from serious neurological problems. Survival statistics for in-hospital pediatric cardiac arrest are better: an estimated 27% of patients survive to discharge, and 65% of them leave the hospital with good neurologic outcomes.
Some pediatric cardiac arrests are sudden and unexpected, especially those that occur outside the hospital setting. Warning signs may be absent or go unnoticed. Infantile arrest often occurs as a complication or progression of respiratory failure, circulatory shock, or both.
Although the cause may vary, the goal is the same: instantly restore effective cardiac output and tissue oxygenation with high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
By allowing you to deliver an immediate shock with the M5072A Pediatric In Situ Defibrillator with Electrodes, you improve the chances of a positive outcome.

Children under 8 years of age or weighing less than 55 pounds (25 kg), including infants, should be treated with Infant/Child SMART Pads. These pads tell the defibrillator to reduce the shock energy from 150 to 50 joules (J). The baby/toddler insert cartridge is marked with the appropriate weight and teddy bear symbol for easy identification.
Pediatric Cushions are suitable for cardiac arrest patients weighing less than 55 lbs. After you receive the new pads, follow the instructions below to get the AED working again.
1. First take the new pads cassette out of the package
2. Release and remove the old pads cartridge by placing and pushing the latch on top of Onsite
3. Then insert the new pads cartridge by pushing the bottom of the cartridge into the AED and then pressing firmly until it clicks into place.
4. Once the new pads are installed, the local defibrillator will signal that the pads are inserted and ready for use.
