An electrocardiogram (ECG) records electrical signals in the heart. This is a common, painless test used to quickly check for heart problems and monitor heart health. An electrocardiogram, also known as an ECG or EKG, is usually done in a healthcare provider's office, clinic, or hospital room. ECG machines are standard equipment in operating theaters and ambulances. From the ECG results, medical personnel can know the patient's heart rate, heart rhythm, heart attack, cardiac blood supply and oxygen supply, and cardiac structural changes, so as to diagnose the patient in time and make treatment judgments.
